Josh

Hello all my friends and fellow Starliters. My name is Josh but most of you will know me by my screen name of Harveythefly. As some of you know I’m a resident of the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana. It's the city in which I grew up and one of the great loves of my life. She's my mother, my lover, my heart, and my home.

On August 29th, 2005, she was almost taken from us forever by a storm of near mythic proportions. Katrina swept through like the finger of an angry god and washed away almost everything that I and everyone that calls this city home hold dear to our hearts.

With that in mind, and with the anniversary of Katrina and her aftermath upon us, I’d like to challenge you to write a poem for our beloved city. It can be anything from a retrospective, a memorial,
or a look at hope for the future. Anything your pen and muse brings you.
Katrina touched more lives than just the ones who lived it. I look forward to reading about how this may have touched you.

Pick up your pens and give Josh your best poetry using the theme above!

Poems that do not the theme will be removed from the thread prior to the vote.

The challenge will end September 14 or after 25 poems posted.
Only one poem per poet will be allowed in this challenge.
