WELCOME TO FOS – CLICK BANNER FOR FORM EXAMPLE

For this challenge, write a poem using the form presented and your fellow Starlite poets will vote for the one they like the best! This week's host will be Renee (rainspirit) as the Dragon is unavailable. The form is:

The Tableau -

The Tableau, a poetry form created by Emily Romano in October of 2008, consists of one or more verses, each having six lines. Each line should have five syllables. There is no set rhyme scheme, although rhyme may be present. The title should contain the word tableau.

Since the dictionary states the word “tableau” means picture or representation, the poem should reflect this. A picture should come to mind as the poem is read.

Simply write a poem using the form above. The winner of FOS is decided by all Starliters. The Host - Bronze Dragon - presents a new form each week. Challenge ends on June 16th or upon reaching 15 poems entered.

FOS is a voting challenge - please return at the end of the challenge to vote for the poem using the form that you liked best. Any entries not following the form given may be removed by the Host prior to voting.

Thanks, and Have Fun!

Message: “HIS TABLEAU SAID OF JOVE” © Challenge Poem, by Jean Elizabeth Ward His Tableau said: “Jove, Expects more of Love!” “Yes, it will be sweet; Much more, than a treat!” He’ll greet me today. No more did he say. Love, give me a break; Whatever . . . it takes. Men will of love speak, And then they will sleep As sound as the dead, On a Featherbed. To find the right one; Who really wants fun, Sometimes it must take So many mistakes; I’ll never neglect . . . To give Love Respect. I’m excited now; Wondering somehow If I can foreknow How I should let go; Feelings of less than, To captivate man? Jove give me a break; I’ve made a mistake! I’ve no fortitude; And no aptitude Thought I’m an adult; Love is difficult!
