The form is: Villanelle - The villanelle is one of the more well known repeating forms. The villanelle has 19 lines, but no set meter or syllable count. It is 5 tercets followed by a closing quatrain. The pattern of the repeated lines and rhymes of the villanelle is below - note that "A1" and "A2" represent repetitions of those lines, verbatim. A1.b.A2 - a.b.A1 - a.b.A2 - a.b.A1 - a.b.A2 - a.b.A1.A2 This sounds harder than it is – please click the banner above for an example of the form! Simply write a poem using the form above.
