WELCOME TO FOS – CLICK BANNER FOR FORM EXAMPLE

For this challenge, write a poem using the form presented and your fellow Starlite poets will vote for the one they like the best! The form is:

Lai-

A lai consists of stanzas with nine lines each. The pattern of syllables per line is 5,5,2,5,5,2,5,5,2 and the rhyme scheme for each stanza is aabaabaab. In other words, all 5 syllable lines (in each individual stanza) rhyme with each other and all 2 syllable lines (in each individual stanza) rhyme with each other. There is no set number of stanzas and the stanzas are not linked to each other in terms of rhyme.

Please click the banner above for an example of the form.

Simply write a poem using the form above. The winner of the FOS Weekly Form challenge is decided by all Starliters. The Host - Bronze Dragon - presents a new form each week. Challenge ends on August 11th or upon reaching 15 poems entered.

FOS is a voting challenge - please return at the end of the challenge to vote for the poem using the form that you liked best. Any entries not following the form given may be removed by the Host prior to voting.

Thanks, and Have Fun!
