Remember

There's a distance between us
Since that destined sunday afternoon

A silence remains in the air as we speak
You know too much, yet nothing of me
And my heart still wants to know yours

I guess the first time is hard to shake
The grip I had so tight meant nothing in the end
I had no choice but to let go

The pain came from all sides,
it oozed out of every pore
I didn't realize love existed so deep

We were young and blind
But i'm still convinced that I saw something in you

I thought I'd hate you forever
But I guess that was only a band-aid
To cover the wound that tore up my heart

Part of my life will always be yours
I hope you treat it well

And take all the good
Ignore the bad
And remember it was love
