` The Remains of Summer `

Lately I have failed to notice
the Beauty of the lofty trees
Each leaf's green glory
as it blows gently in Summer's breeze

Now Summer bids a fond farewell all too soon
With the fading of an orange August moon
September shall slip quietly in
and the changing of a new season now begins

and oh, the leaves are dying in beauty once again

Yes, in their dying beauty they simply change their hue
From green to gold and scarlet reds
and the flowers, even the fading rose
know it's time for rest, in their flower beds

and oh,the leaves are dying in beauty without much said

With blissful rays of sunshine peeping thru~
until cold winds breathe upon my face
I'm holding close the moment's view
with renewed appreciation for time and space

and oh, the leaves are dying in beauty, with elegant grace

Feeling slightly sad
I bend down to pick up one sweet rose
and kiss the petals to a fresh new wind
One Season's changing to another, 'Tis not bad
and in my heart, the Remains of Summer stay within

and oh the leaves are dying in beauty, once again
