THE NUTCRACKER'S WISH

~Sesta Rima~

The lights were dimmed...a hush fell on the crowd.
The curtain rose revealing Clara sweet.
The audience began to clap aloud,
As expectations filled them in their seats.
A live ballet with holiday appeal,
Was set to play the night in fervored zeal!

As Clara's dream began to open sway,
The party of the year was set full-swing.
With feet to tell the story of that day,
In rhythm and with magic songs to sing.
A special gift became her cherished prize,
And came to life before our very eyes!

The pas de deux was danced when Clara grew
Into the lady fair the which to stand.
Her doll, a handsome prince whose dream came true...
To dance the night away as mortal man!
But every dream must have an end, and so...
The prince returned to wooden form of show.
