REAL MEN LOVE JESUS

There was a man his name was Joe
Not a kinder man you'd ever know
He fought a battle - lasted years
Yet he never wrote his fears

An accident many years ago
Had left him with a curse you know
But he took the bad and made it good
Just like the man who knew he could

Inspiration was his to give
To others who thought - why even
live
He did not ask for sympathy
But he had it for you - and yes, for me

I know he felt so much alone
And yet he made the best of home
He even made a website to share
With friends he met - their everywhere

I first met him when I wrote a poem
He wrote me; encouraged me to go on
No matter what I sent o'er the years
He'd read and you know that he cheered

For he was just this kind of man
Being an invalid was not his plan
He made the most of every day
He always had kind and loving words
to say

I wish that I had written more
Yet he welcomed my poems right in
his door
I know that somewhere in Heaven he
Is walking, running, flying free

For God has taken but His soul
And Joe had it ready for years to go
He never tried to live a lie
So brave he was - more than you
or I

I think that God left him here a while
To encourage us and make us smile
And when we walk those golden streets
I'm sure that Joe we're sure to meet

So thank you God for sharing Joe
A person we were blessed to know
Please let him know we'll miss him here
But we're glad He's with you always near

With misty eyes and salty tears
We thank you for giving him some years
And what a man, we'll not forget
'Real men love Jesus' is with us yet

God's Little Whispers

A tribute for my dear friend, Joe Wallace
Rest in peace and bask in God's love
~*~

Joe Wallace died this morning at 3 a.m.
He had been a quadriplegic since 1983.
The Lord, after much rehab, gave him
enough use with his right arm in a
brace to be able to write. He made a
webtv homepage. I heard from him
just recently ~ I sent him my poems.
He was one of my first readers and
encouraged me to write and to share
it is well. On his home page he used
these words ~ 'REAL MEN LOVE JESUS
He will be sorely missed.
