LITHIUM BLUES

In this state
tears are welcomed relief.

I long to be a ghost,
whispery thin,
insignificant
in the scheme of things.

I live,
but drown in indifference,
pulled in the swirling currents
ruling this river of shadows
and meaninglessness.

In this state,
mystique broken
and words unspoken,
tears are a welcomed release
giving shallow meaning
to a hypocritical existence.

Colored in all these
underground hues,
wallowing in the sweet aroma of nothingness,
I come alive in Lithium blues.
