nothing has changed regarding hearts
ours still commune without words
beyond all doubt I think they will
smile at each other for time and eternity
distance never seems to separate us
each time you appear on my horizon
I relax and bask in the sun of affection
there is a comforting ambience of home
and a distinct warmth of familiar hearth
in this winter world, so coldly impersonal
we find joy together when our auras touch
and our souls merge in a welcoming kiss
I’ll not lie or deny the fire that ignites
in every thought of you, it brightly blazes
with each exchange of minds and hearts
I feel no black shame for honest desire
nor regret for love that is not feigned
I don’t want to change your life...except
with the beauty of being admired, desired
and comfort of knowing there’s one who’d
fill the void with love songs and lovemaking
if only life and time had been on our side
I will forever be a shelter for your heart
and you.... a strong shoulder for my tears
