Feelin Dancey

Oh Grand It Tis Ta Be Irish!!

~~Legend claims that when the wee people are joyful
they never say they are feeling happy, but dancey~~

from the face of golden goddess moon
deep purple twilight at last slowly flees
things that transpire in the garden soon
none would believe, if in truth, he sees!

they each waken with a diminutive yawn
in the folds of their moonflower beds
they tryst mid dahlias and dance on the lawn
like the sugarplums in children’s heads

they gather ‘neath jonquil and marigold
to indulge in tiny pints and a dance
to fiddle jigs feet pound out rythmns old
as wee colleens small suitors entrance

some ride proud upon the back of a toad
and hoot loudly at the old barn owl
they prance and prowl in party mode
no better night they’ve known nor shall

they float though mystical moonbeams
and glide on gathering drops of dew
the night is young, then old it seems
as the fae each ancient rite renew

when pink dawn breaks and night completes
they fold their gossamer dew-kissed wings
slide between white petals of moonflower sheets
as on cusp of magic, mortals dream enchanted things
