One More Day
If I knew that God was calling me home to Heaven above
I`d gather all my family and friends, That I so dearly love
I would turn to God and talk to him and I would pray
And ask him for Time to tell my family, Just one more day
So I could spend the day with them and comfort everyone
I`d tell them not to cry because my time on earth is done
Then I`d ask God to strengthen me for just a little a while
So that I might have the chance, to leave them with a smile
I`d tell then all to rejoice and be glad for me, As I will be
Joining my husband Bob ,and all the rest of my dear family
That have gone before me, to Heaven above years ago
I`d tell them ,They will miss me,There`s no doubt,That I know
I`d tell them don`t cry for me as they put me in the ground
For it`s only my body leaving, My spirit will always be around
I would remind each of them how much each one means to me
How much I loved each one and I loved them unconditionally
I`ll tell each of them to thank God for giving me one more day
So I could tell them how I felt and what my heart told me to say
Then as I`d hug each and everyone I`d kiss them all goodbye
And hold them for a moment and tell them please don`t cry
I`d ask God for forgiveness for all the wrong I`ve ever done
I`d tell him for the ones that done me wrong,I forgive everyone
I`d then thank God for that one more day to share my love
I`d close my eyes and be an angel watching over them from above
