YOU HELD MY HEART

You hold my heart as though you care
Your smile alights the darkened room
You bring to me Orion's moon
Your name is cherished like a prayer

I need no other love but you
I offer up the gift of time
I ask that you be only mine
I give my heart to those I choose

We mix and match each word we say
We honor wisdom by our voice
We both have made the wisest choice
We each become a child at play

Your name was cherished like a prayer
You brought to me Orion's moon
Your smile lit up the darkened room
You held my heart as though you cared
