THE PURPLE CRAYON

I have a purple crayon and
I rise to lend a hand,
To help the springtime season 'cause
This place is much too bland.

Upon the ground which frozen lies
In winter's cold embrace,
I ply the gift of purple to
These things with love and grace...

I color every mound of white
In lilac purple hues,
And sprinkle dead-brown grasses with
A purple...light as blue!

Then from the box of crayons which
I place upon the shelf,
I take some soft-mauve kisses
And I color up myself!
