Serenity
The soft breeze flirts with the nubile green grass,
Gently caressing the tender buds of the young apple tree;
A morning dove coos softly for her absent mate,
Joyful in his reply to her loving plea.
Serenely we lay entwined in verdant fields of clover,
As billowy clouds paint dreams that shift and play;
Holding you close with your head on my shoulder,
Tomorrow matters not when we have today.
Far away is the sound of a busy highway,
Cars rushing madly to places unknown;
But here we listen to love's sweet melody,
Birds and crickets sing our song.
Morning rays hold us in warm embrace,
A sensual fragrance perfumes the air;
Wild flowers bloom with profuse extravagance,
We are lost in love without a care.
