A DIFFERENT SHADE OF GREEN

I know St. Patrick's Day is here
By all the green I see.
But you'd just be surprised to know
What I saw in the tree.

A tiny little leprechaun
Was smiling down real nice,
He had no pot of gold in hand
And not one pair of dice.

He said he wished the world would take
Some time to live life green.
And that they'd be aware of things
To do to keep earth clean.

He said that living green was more
Than shamrocks, luck and play.
And that he wanted mother earth
To last for many days.

With that he disappeared from sight
But left within my hand,
A poem to be read today
On mountain, seas and sand.
