Backpack Story III

We went along the Appalachian Trail
Then it seemed after awhile
The other side wasn’t much different
Than this side, it didn't seem worthwhile

We came to a nice campground
And decided to stay awhile
There was nice clean water
So we pitched our tents with a smile

Spent a lot of time around the stream
Fishing the crawdad holes
Caught a lot and frying those tails
Tho we didn’t have any rolls

Stayed at that place about a week
Still sleeping in our tent
We played so very hard every day
And it didn’t cost us a cent

We were quite content just staying there
We didn’t have to carry a pack
The hubby walked into town one day
Got food he brought back in a sack

This trip was a great time together
The boys were twelve and sixteen
We had a lot of fun, played in the sun
And we didn’t have a house to clean
