Such a Gift
Such horror as they nailed Him,
uncomplaining to that wood.
Such torture, as He hung there,
can't forget it, never could.
Such wonder- He forgave them,
'For they know not what they do'.
Such sadness, 'It is finished',
this He did for me and you.
Such reverence as they laid Him,
shrouded, lonely, without breath.
Such a rumble made that sealing stone
and they left Him there in death.
Such terror in the women,
body missing from the tomb.
Such wonder, when they saw Him,
born anew, no need of womb.
Such glory, He is risen,
angels rolled the stone away.
Such triumph, Jesus, Saviour
and He lives in us today.
Such grace and such blessings,
grasp the promise Easter gives.
Such hope in resurrection,
Christ has died but now He lives.
'Why do you look for the living among the dead?'
