SHE IS ME

The hills call unto dawn and creatures wild
With hallowed voice and message for us all.
I wake to greet the Mother as She calls,
When stepping on the soil She grants a smile.

Connected to the winds of time that sing
And spirit of the eagle as it flies,
I climb into the arms where wisdom lies
Then I am bathed anew like birth of spring.

She gives me days to love and eyes to see.
In every season She and I are one.
Her child was I before the time of sun,
For I am Her...conversely, She is me.

Please do not cry when death is mine to keep.
The aspen and the forest bid me go.
Then as you gaze on hills each white with snow,
My soul will fly above the mountain peaks!
