I Heard Your Call

Work seeming so mundane
Couldn't seem to focus on anything
Mind spinning thinking I could go insane
Wanting to find something to fling

I sat calmly gathering my thoughts
My heart felt heavy with burdens
Finally alone, no one but me to call the shots
I step into the open where space widens

Taking a deep breath, feeling my tears fall
Wind blowing gently across my cheeks
Among the breeze I heard your call
Closing my eyes I saw your gentle creeks

Remembering my visit to your peaks
The majestic view of all that nature gives
Your Evergreens so tall the sky it seeks
Autumn Aspens flowing with gold leaves

Meadows like a carpet of wild flowers
Yes, my heart truly heard your call
For it is you who calms me nature showers
Frees my mind and soul of any wall

I truly would go insane if not for you
My wondrous Colorado Rocky Mountain
Where I escape to when I am feeling blue
My heart rests with you, that I am certain
