The day I received a miracle

Feeling free as a butterfly
Patient for so very long
Never in my wildest dreams
Had I imagined the feelings
I experienced in that moment
On that memorable day
I shed the shackles of diabetes
Gave up my seat at dialysis
All because of a selfless gift
