TREASURE TO BEHOLD
There is a place I seek of solitude
It is a place of love and dreams,
Serenity, calm and peace
Where beauty grows in coloured themes.
The swaying of the barley and corn
That sings to me under a golden sun,
A country scene to take your breath
Pictures of exhilaration, everyone.
The swaying oak in the morning breeze
As on this hillside I sit immersed,
In nature's glorious garden of creation
And thank the lord for quenching my thirst.
My love and dreams lay hence before me
On this wonderful spectacular day,
I weep with joy in my solitude of love
That I was given sight to witness such a display.
For in all the world there is nothing like it
The peace and calm a treasure to behold,
Seen through a poets eyes my friends
It is more valuable than a bar of gold.
