Dandelions

Weeds pleasing to the eye
Enticing spring fever fools
Hypnotizing
Crass yellow explosions
Scattered about every groomed
And ungroomed lawn

Sometimes
One will poke its head
Through the mossy cracks
Of a red brick walkway...
A barricade
From point A
To point B

Another one
Camouflages itself
With a garden
Of orange, white and red daffodils
Guarded by a fence
Of cherry stained Popsicle sticks
Sheltered
From the slaughter of
The suburban slayer
