428 Consecutive Nights

The moon has traveled
And seen numerous phases
And faces
Yet
He always seems to glance at me
Through the rattan shades
Just about every single night
11:51PM
He knows what I'm up to...
He is the only one that knows

Not even the vacant soul
Whose pulse I can see
Drumming the duvet
Next to me
Is aware
Of my painful longing

428 Consecutive Nights
And I still dream
Of that familiar embrace
And my profound desire for more
Only the moon knows
