Inches Away

in those partying days we used to roar
The laughter usually at ourselves, galore
always the pranksters with jokes in store
Never did we look hard for everyone had one more

Now sis often got me with jokes or remarks
Even the men tended to pick on us at times.
We always laughed it off with unrelated remarks
Confusion from them brought laughters and tears at times

The dances and drinks and laughter kept the thoughts away
Our table filled with people and friends for the laughter
Bragging was aloud but often regaled with laughter
Till the day the measuring and age old dispute was displayed

Sounded way too serious for our table
They even discussed our sizes and weights
Not realizing their mistake until it was too late
For I challenged his claim to fame put stakes on the table

Now Joe we heard this story before
I have this new measuring key change from the union rep
Lets put it to the test and see how you all measure up
Would you like to be first or last, is it centimeters or inches

What put this tape away? Okay file your inches away

Just another fishing story
