On Acceptance

Mile Marker MCCCIV

Haibun Verse

Within anchored night, moonlit treason
sighs with great relief. Love abandoned,
forsaken for temptation's faithless embrace.
Protected, reason could dream of forever,
happiness in one flame. Too late, learning
how angels scheme with shadows of doubt,
finding there will always be stars seeking
the memory of yesterday. . .

Diamond's flirtation
Slipping on and off divine
Despite possession.

Painted faces, eyes of invisibility, Paradise
ending the chapter so soon. Where is tomorrow
in eternal night? Emotionless heart of stone
pleads mercy as April's rain replaces December's
snow. When words alone are not enough to
express the loss of self. . .

Live automation
Careless to the whispers heard
Troubled waters deep.

So smooth the tongue with purring speech,
deception moving away in blinded honesty,
trusting the silence found. Scents of color from
black roses outside twisting blurry images of
death promising welcome sleep. Defended walls
crumble, exposing ancient blame, when heaven
came to hell and stole perfection. . .

Vanishing rainbow
Return to shades of the same
Dismal direction.

Though fighting loneliness, subdued words stare
unattended. Proof incarcerates strength when lies
pressure weakness. Loose coins fall to the ground,
scattered will never to be collected. Precious overtures
from divinity beg of reunion with one, believing a
spoonful of time speaks volumes, when searching
for truth, looking in mirrors. . .

Removing the mask
Converse with strange likeness see
Completing circle.
