~ Summer Sounds ~

Blissful thoughts on summer's day
Enjoying all around
Nature's feast for eyes to drink
With every summer sound

Sounds of life from every walk
Whether bird or butterfly
Hustling sounds are everywhere
As summer days go by

The laughter heard in children's play
Brings joyful memory
All those days of yesteryear
When laughter was of me

Skies so blue with pillowed clouds
Drift gently with the breeze
Can sit and swing by shaded trees
So restfully at ease

Reminiscent thoughts run through my mind
Scatter rhyme upon the grounds
Of summer past and yet to come
Dreams real and so profound

These days will pass as those before
Each season has its time
Enjoyed today for what it brings
Tomorrow may not be mine
