believe the lies,
about the 'bad' in you or me
some listen to one side alone
in their email
on the other end of their phone
some send down judgments
and throw their stones
they don't really know the facts
but never let
their wagging tongues relax
they easily lay all the blame
on the one
their old friend might name
but it changes nothing
the truth remains the same
cold hard hearts, twisted minds
casting blame
to cover their own behinds
others foolish enough to believe
what they hear
from those who with hate seethe
so i will make no apology
for who i am, for being me
read what i write or leave it alone
go back to your gossip
on email and your phone
listen and believe what you will
it matters not at all
of false accusations have your fill
i'm no innocent babe it's true
but i'm not the bitch portrayed to you
