I Remember Rain

Once more the immense sun
Blooms in its' awful power
Drooping the grass and trees

Dried flowers lie crisp as crackers
Dead in brown-black fields
Popcorn thunder explodes
Natures' sensitive ears
Rain clouds have been burnt
From the hostile, woolen sky
They never even had a chance

The aluminum sun hammers
As it laughs its' brazen laugh

I remember
Invigorating rain
