LOYAL FRIENDS
The wine of life thy pleasure is
Seeking coats of many,
Many faces has thy friends
Loyalty doesn't cost a penny.
For in the seat of judgement
Sits a higher force than I,
To seek to find loyal friends
I only have to look to the sky.
But, there is one on this planet earth
Who gives me so much pleasure,
She alone brings me happiness
That I very much do treasure.
She is one of compassion
Love, care, kindness and giving,
A heart of gold for others
She alone makes life worth living.
She brings me sun on a cloudy day
She has a true gift of knowing,
Like my friends in the sky
When to tell me to keep on sowing.
To her I owe a great debt as my friend
To sow the message of love and peace,
And overwhelming gratitude and joy
For without her friendship the words would cease.
The words of love, I write day by day
Would suddenly fade away,
Into oblivion never to be seen or spoken
My heart and soul would be totally broken.
