Dad's Love
It's been 11 years
since I've seen your face
such a long time
to miss your loving embrace
You taught me so many things
you were such a great Dad
but sometimes I just miss you
and it makes me feel so sad
I try to dwell on memories
of my childhood's happy days
how you loved us all so much
words you didn't have to say
I think of when you retired
we moved, you, mom and me
we formed a friendship like no other
just between us three
When I got married
it almost broke my heart
to know that I had to leave you, Dad
and make a brand new start
When I had Cassandra
you were so overjoyed
she was your 'little baby'
the one you taped 'Barney' for
Even though you're gone now
I hear the echos of your love
and I send my love right back to you
to Heaven up above
