On Mother's Day, Georgia's journey started
She's the second daughter of five children
One day, everything changed-she was in love
She'd grown up-so vibrant and full of joy
Soon, Georgia had left home and married Joe
With love, they had two wonderful children
The girls grew and grew, soon off on her own
Both chose different directions to pursue
Joann, the oldest, followed her career
Debbie fell in love and married Jimmy
Her two girls will soon be on their way, too
Rachel's in college; Danielle's in eighth grade
For so long, Georgia felt weak and in pain
Her memories seemed like a lifetime ago
One day, everything changed-she heard the news
She'd need oxygen for her failing lungs
Cleveland Clinic brought a glimmer of hope
Daily, she patiently waits for the call
to be placed on the recipient list
The lung transplant will change and save her life
She's my aunt, but is also someone's
daughter, sister, mother and grandmother
We love her so much and hold to her hands,
providing support and encouragement
