Night Shadow

Your fingers danced on my heart like tongues of licking flames.
Your words swept through my mind as beautiful as Autumn's turquoise sky.
Your face unfurls in swirls of false visions behind my naked, green eyes.
Your fingers, your words, your face ...
Your lies, your lies arrived like prickling needles of misted morphine.
My desire.
My addiction.
My need...
My need to believe in your love for me.
My need to be needed by only you.
There is a crying sound from yesterday, falling into the silver cracks of the moon.
There is the taste of mystery burning my tongue like strong, bourbon whiskey.
There is the missing of kisses that were never felt by my trembling lips.
There is the quivering dawn of all the tomorrows we will never share.
There is the love that I thought was real, I thought was true, I thought was mine.
And here...
Here is the one who cries alone when night-shadow overtakes me like a woolen blanket and suffocates me.
