The Joy Of Love

The Joy of love
I do recall
tender and sweet
as wine..

Better with age they
say...
But those youthful
days were full of
play...

and now we sit
and cuddle
and make each
moment subtle

as not to indulge
in play that would
end up in a fall...
Oh...
those days of love
where has the beauty
gone?

Gone not my heart
into the dark
but memories
bring back a spark.

not to forget the flame
that once burned,
in our hearts.

only to age with grace
and remember
what ran through
our veins.

you bathed me
with such gentleness
'n knew just what to say

remember blissful
evenings?
our lovers serenade?

your moistened kiss
like crimson wine
set my soul afire

echoes lingered
through the night
stirring deep desire

our whispered words
of fantasy

when love
was young, alive
what happened
to the romance?
songs within our hearts?

come closer dear
lets cuddle
'neath the August moon
for always and forever
my love
belongs to you
