Old and New

Let my mind wrap around another dimension
And see a different space and scene, of what can be seen
Let that wavelength of light, swimming in the air
Be transmitted into my head and dreams
Burn through my bitterness and despair
And take me away from me, so I can be free
To have it run through my veins again
So I can grab a little hope to breathe
To sense that lightness in my bones
So these days don’t waste and throw

For I once did believe in the book, read and fed off it
But it lost its power and look, and I grew bored
Not wanting the belief anymore
The realness between my fingers was enough for me
Why complicate things ever more with rules and lines
I just wanted to be, couldn’t they see
Just wanted to be me, so I could breathe

But what is reality, and what is time, this linear time
That dissolves our dreams
And puts us to sleep so quickly
Matter flying through a mortal wind
And then we die, and then we sleep, to sleep and dream

But let that wavelength of light come into me again
And it doesn’t hurt to read it, only my pride
Let me sit and breathe in anew
Something old and something new.
