My Super Special Parents
My mother is an astrophysicist
and my father is a neurosurgeon
they are both classical violinists
and also play piano and cello
they attend the theatre every week
and eat at the finest restaurants
they have travelled around the globe
and always travel in first class
my father can speak fluently
seven different languages
my mum can only speak five
but is learning a sixth
and they both can speak and read
Latin, Hebrew and Greek
they run seven marathons a year
and compete in triathlons every month
they eat heaps of fruit and vegetables
and never drink wine or beer
but, I like to eat leaves and rocks
and I like to listen to the trees
I can play drums with a couple of sticks
and my ass is always itchy
I smell strange and very funny
and my hair is always messy
I drink heaps of squirrel urine
and dream I am a giant butterfly
I pick my big fat nose
and wipe my finger on my shirt
I eat on the floor like a dog
and eat my food with my feet
when the night comes
I don’t read any books
because I can’t read well
I just look at the stars
with my spirit friend
and we are both very happy.
