My Poems About Giving And Charity

Giving In Secret

Do your giving in secret,
Changing hearts one by one.
Don't wear your accomplishments,
Or proclaim what you've done.

Don't seek out acknowledgement,
Never accept payment or reward.
Just keep it between yourself,
Your Heavenly Father and your Lord.

Consider giving like sowing a small seed,
You won't see the affect for a good little while.
Be patient my friend and keep planting your seed,
When the critics come just look at them and smile.

And remember your Heavenly Father will repay you,
For all the good in life that you've done.
Until then just be patient my friend,
You will know when your harvest has come.'

Charity

Some see Charity as a way to benefit self,
It makes them feel good and look good as well.
They give only with the return in mind,
And see their action as oneness defined.

They look for the reward, they might receive,
But if that's their attitude, then they are deceived.
For Charity is not giving to elevate one's self,
Nor is it defined as spreading the wealth.

The true meaning is sacrifice you see,
Lifting up others, not thinking of me.
Christ led by example with real humility,
A much needed attitude found in true Charity.

When You See The Need

Giving shelter to a homeless man.
Giving a home to the little orphan.
Giving comfort to the lonely widow.
Giving a coin to the man with the fiddle.

What do you give when you see the need?
What do you give when they need you to?
What do you give when you see the need?

Father I will follow you, I will follow you,
Where your Spirit leads me to.

Giving the very shirt off my back.
Giving the hungry a food filled sack.
Giving to those out there on 5th Avenue.
Giving my heart and my soul too.

What do you give when you see the need?
What do you give when they need you to?
What do you give when you see the need?

Father I will follow you, I will follow you,
Where your Spirit leads me to.

^ Christ promised us 100 fold of whatever we give up for the sake of the Kingdom in this age and treasure in the age to come. There is no greater investment my friend than a one hundred fold investment. Karma says that what you do comes back to you but Christ took this one step further. Christ said what you do for others is like planting a small seed like that of a tiny mustard seed and taught that you would then reap a great harvest at the seasons end. Is there any investment greater than that my friend? Quit investing in yourself and invest in others because that is a much needed attitude, be patient and wait a season. Don't ever let man repay you, let God repay for there is noone else who can give you such a great return, trust me.
