Did You Mean It?
Did you mean it when you said,
“I’ll go where you want me to go, dear Lord
O’er mountain or plain or sea”
Did you mean it when you said,
“I’ll say what you want me to say dear Lord,
I’ll be what you want me to be”
And you said, my daughter,
“…In paths that I do not know, and
trusting my all to thy tender care,
though dark and rugged the way”
I saw your tears as your heart reached out to Me,
“I’ll do Thy will with a heart sincere,
Oh Savior if Thou will be my guide,
Though dark and rugged the way”
Now things once again have gone in a way not planned
And darkness, despair and pain press you down
Will the words you prayed and the desire within
Keep you close to Me in faith and love
Will you walk today and the days ahead
with the firm knowledge that you are loved
That my Spirit leads and keeps you strong
and My purpose and plan shall prevail?
This is the conversation the Lord and I had a few months ago...
and my answer is 'yes', I shall trust in You
But for some reason I was a long time writing it all down
it seemed so hard to say it out loud,
Once again I know it has been a test of my faith and the question
… am I going to let Him continue to lead,
or try to ‘take over’ in my own strength…
Lord I repeat again from my heart,
'I’ll go where you want me to go and I’ll say what you want me to say'
You have never failed me and I know deep within, You never will.
Yes Lord, I did mean it
