Your Heart
I saw you for the first time and my heart fluttered
My very essence trembled and the heat from my inner passions
turned into embers ablaze
I saw in you my everything and all my hopes and dreams
Every image of my perfect soul mate was standing right before my eyes
yet my heart had to be absolutely sure
I needed to protect myself by keeping a guard on my love
And holding my feeling in check, I had to ensure that this love filled heart
did not rush in foolishly
I have waited now, oh so patiently and have watched so closely
I've seen the goodness in your eyes, felt the warmness of your words
and I know now the time is right
To tell you I love you and how I yearn just to feel your warm embrace
And if you ask me how can I feel this way I can say with all my convictions
that the reason I do love you so is, I've seen your heart
