Empty

Empty

Silence spills, weeping
Sentences across the sky
Still, naked, the moon

She carries her suitcase. Empty... pitifully so. Her life, her memories, her soul, packed away long ago. By choice... hidden in shuttered rooms and folded boxes. Penciled into footnotes, most erased over time. She sighs and remembers. Those unopened doors and curtained windows. Ugly mirrors hung from rusty dreams. The quiet of alone. Yes, a life never lived. She never thought it would matter or be this hard. But hard it is... to leave this solitude, this living tomb. She never thought a suitcase carrying nothing but fear could be this heavy. She never thought she would die this emply.... never thought she would care.

Sorrow weeps, spilling
Regret across empty sky
Still, naked, the moon
