Wondering Again

It's funny as I sit here
Gazing glumly at the gloom
Every time I think of you
The sun lights up the room

And when the tears fall freely from
These eyes that seem so blue
The green comes back into them
As I think, my dear, of you

What a quandry am I facing
Up and down and inside out
My soul is singing sometimes
And sometimes crying out!

Wonder if I'll see again
The one face I hold dear
Or feel the pressure of his love
As he holds me ever near

If once again can never be
My heart will hold onto
The memory of having loved
One as wonderful as you

But in my soul I'm holding on
To promises and plans
That I will be your girl again
And you will be my man
