After All This Time

After All This Time

Hoping, wishing, waiting
Wondering if it’s possible
To reconcile distance and time
Reason and rhyme
His life and mine

When words are silenced
And phone fails to ring
To reconcile worries and fears
Hesitation and tears
His life and mine

Unknowns whisper nonstop
Invading wake and sleep
To reconcile darkness and light
Memories and hindsight
His life and mine

After the sunset fades away
Today approaching tomorrow
To reconcile the past and present
Happiness and discontent
His life and mine

Hoping, wishing, waiting
Wondering if it’s possible
To reconcile distance and time
Reunion in perfect rhyme
His life and mine
After all this time
