Abandoned Avenue

Abandoned Avenue

Broken hearted pieces
Lining an avenue of woe
This used to be my town
Until I made the choice to go

It wasn’t an easy decision
Stability in the mundane
Premature acceptance of forever
Not yet wise enough to refrain
But I shall never return again

Scattered flowers of memory
Occasional bright spots I remember
He was not the knight I thought
Undeserving of my forever

Darkness forecast changed
My eyes adjusting to the light
Acceptance and love everywhere
This is my town day and night
Scattered not with woe’s plight
Hand in hand down the avenue
Lined with love and light

At last Me and My True Knight
