Get Rid Of The Advertisements

In The Eyes Of Dad

At times we don't always appreciate the smaller things in life
The happy little moments of the holidays that we had
I remember our crooked tree, branches so uneven
But the Christmas tree looked lovely in the eyes of Dad

The lights were wound all about the tree
Some bulbs blinking, some still, some not even there
Now Dad's decorated tree is just a sweet memory
I would give anything to have him here this year

After all, he tried his best to decorate the house
Tinsel lay more on the floor than in the tree
Now I realize just how magic were those moments
I didn't appreciate them then, now they mean the world to me

I can still recall that Christmas tree I thought was so homely
There'll never be a love like Dad's, nor a tree so fine
I'd tell Dad that his tree was the most beautiful of trees
Wish I could tell him, and go back to the childhood of mine
