What Happen To-For The People

Long ago when this land was young
Our Presidents stood strong on their commitment
To strengthen our freedoms as they were begun
From their mouths truth was sent

Campaigns were about what they stood for
You did not hear of the others misgivings
Their beliefs were not made from lore
They did not twist words changing their meanings

What happened to our foundation
They speak of what we want to hear
The things we need they have no notion
Their personal goals is all they see clear

Our poor stay penniless, without homes
High taxes, unable to pay, have taken them away
Spider webs found in freedoms catacombs
The lower class not given a chance to have their say

Amazement in thoughts that way back when
Our representatives in government received little pay
Yet listened to our needs back then
Even the meager were allowed to have their say

Today those who supposedly are there for us
Give little care to our Nations true needs
Of our poor and needy they don't want to discuss
Their election won on untruthful seeds

Exceptions are made for those who are illegal
Our money sent to help countries who would harm us
Allowing harm to enter beneath site of an eagle
Leaving little protection from threats numerous

Taxes go to salaries that are tremendous
Yet the job they do is so haphazard
Others would be fired for doing much less
It is time we awoke making them work hard

Is there a leader out there
Who truly understands our needs
A foundation of freedoms aware
One Nation under God he heeds

We must stand strong together
Show them we do have a power
As one we can withstand the weather
Lies should no longer build a tower

We have the power to fire
Those who do not help us become stronger
Who's goal is their own attire
For them we shall vote no longer
