Get Rid Of The Advertisements

My Dad

He was there, although he was not
we talked, but yet, we did not
it was all for me,but I could not see

He held my hand,
so that I would not fall
the years moved by
I grew straight and tall

On the road of life
new horizons lie ahead
I love you he said-
as he let go of my hand

On this road that we traveled
I now passed him by
for he could only walk
but I now could fly

Caught up in my own dreams
the good times I'd forgotten,
when I was small
he was always there,
my joys to share
he would tuck me in
then kiss me goodnight
sweet dreams, he would say
as he turned out the light

Now I know,
how much he really loved me
but sometimes in my heart
I feel sad
that I never took the time
to really know my dad

[Love you Dad]
your son
