The Door

When I hear your key in the lock
Your hand pressed on the door
My heart it often skips a beat
With a love that leaves me sore

My world becomes just one deep breath
With love that's wide and true
And I am filled with happy thoughts
Of life and love with you

Each memory flickers through my mind
The kind words that you say
Your first will be a gentle kiss
'Hi Honey.. How's your day'

A sweet and loving warm embrace
Our souls shall be as one
And you'll re-gift me with the tales
As the days damage is done

I'll smile and look within your eyes
Glad for this moments grace
And fondly think of beauty
That, which lies within your face

It takes a minute to sink in
This love that we explore
And all of that, I often think
When I hear your hand
Pressed on the door
