Brilliant Days of Fall

Photobucket

Sunset drenched maple branches sway in graceful simultaneous rhythm.
Maples burst into red flames of glory and shower the earth with a royal tapestry
Fall begins to close eyes with a lust for long sleep
As skeletal arms reach to the sky in praise of God

Technology becomes a slave to Mother Earth
Cities beg for mercy when lightening
bolts from powerful fingertips
Throws bright fiery streaks of silver mercury across
Sullen gray clouds on tinged pink sky , stripping earth of her powers.

Anger is only satiated by a wracking thunderstorm
Replete with pearl-like hail stones and pouring rain
A sonata of fire and ice upon the old shed’s tin roof
Tippa tap tap….. tippa tap tap
Rat a rat tat chant ; a holy song of the weatherman coming to court her…..

Gusts of water soaked wind flying through blank space
Wrapping around three girls huddling together in a teenage giggle party

Droplets hangs as diamonds from sycamore branches
And the earth smiles at the full spectrum of prism colors
arching boldly over a canvas of dark sullen gray
God’s art noveau heaven weeping for joy over a perfect rainbow

And for what seems like eternity I fill myself as a glutton for beauty
With the fresh ozone smells of November completed at sundown
