The Burial Gate

Where a train went through a burial gate,
a bird broke forth and sang
And as summer departed so did I
it was a timeless journey, it took no time
So sleeps the vitality of former days
For now the mournful draw near where I lay
Sweet at first to look upon
The sounds of a busy life are now gone
It held no wants, no ruse, or empty lures
The root is never where it lay
Which in form, all my worldly parts do endure
But no breath of wind could keep me there
So grateful is such a loss of breath
I am off the beaten track where mortals tread
I hear the far-off bells that chime
High where beauty lies
Challenge: Verse 5. A train went through a burial gate, a bird broke forth and sang.
