Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Not Forever

Into your arms I fled, and I confess
I craved escape when life had lost its gleam.
Wrapped in your warmth, entwined in your caress;
A beautiful reflection of my dream.
I know that you desired to stay forever;
To weave into the fabric of my day
Your beautiful devotion to your ethics,
Your look that sped my heartbeat clear away.
It pains me now to think how we were riven
But “forever” wasn’t part of my design.
The treasure I could give you, friend, was given.
Our vastly different worlds could not combine.
The light soon faded on our perfect scene
But know this: I’ll be never what I’d been.
